01 · The project requirements
Covering an existing Artex ceiling
The living room had an older textured Artex ceiling that the customer wanted to update. Rather than retaining the existing pattern, the aim was to plaster over the texture and give the room a flat, more modern ceiling.
The ceiling also had several light positions that needed to be worked around carefully to leave a neat finish.
02 · Work completed
Plastering over the textured ceiling
We applied a fresh plaster skim over the existing Artex ceiling, covering the textured surface and working around the ceiling light positions.
The photograph shows the plastering underway, with fresh plaster being applied across the ceiling and the room protected during the work.
Once completed, the original Artex pattern was covered, leaving the ceiling ready to dry before decorating.
03 · The finished result
A freshly plastered living room ceiling
With the plastering complete, the original Artex texture was covered, leaving the living room with a fresh, even ceiling finish.
Once the new plaster has fully dried, the ceiling can be painted to complete the room's updated appearance.
